100 Meter Dash
Trinity Christian's Elecia McCurrie decimated the field and shattered the State Meet Record in clocking an
impressive 11.98. That time gives her the 3rd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the Best All-Time Class A
State Meet Performance. While McCurrie was under 12, only Williamstown's Shelby Smith was under 13 seconds among
the rest of the field with her 12.81. Wheeling Central's Kayleigh Whittington was close to the mark with a 13.01 for
3rd. Valley Wetzel's Laken Dawson came out on top of a close race for 4th with a 13.10. South Harrison's Ashley
Martin claimed the 5th spot in the final meters in 13.14. Williamstown's Audrey Lefebure had an excellent start
and took the 6th spot in 13.16.

200 Meter Dash
Trinity Christian's Elecia McCurrie already had a commanding lead coming out of the turn and pulled further away down
the stretch to win by over a second in 25.06. Her 24.87 time in the preliminaries was a new State Meet Record and stands
as the 5th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Williamstown's
Shelby Smith was over 1.3 seconds ahead of the rest of the field in taking 2nd in 26.18. Magnolia's Jenna Blain
took the 3rd spot in 27.51, and Wheeling Central's Kayleigh Whittington just held off Doddridge's Payton Trent
for 4th, 27.78 to 27.79. Wheeling Central's Aniah Maltony was the last one in under 28 seconds with a 27.93 for 6th.
One of my predicted placers scratched the event.

400 Meter Dash
Trinity Christian's Elecia McCurrie got out well, but Williamstown's Shelby Smith made it a race, getting up close
coming out of the final turn and pulling just about even with about 70 meters to go before McCurrie pulled back away in the final
50 meters to take the win in a State Meet Record time of 55.70. That also stands as the 3rd Best All-Time State Meet
Performance and the Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Smith was exceptional as well, clocking a 56.61,
giving her the 3rd Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. These two were over 5 seconds ahead of the rest of the
field. James Monroe's Abby Dixon score 3rd place from Heat 1 with a 1:01.63. South Harrison's Reyna Headley
just held off Tucker's Kaite Hicks 1:01.74 to 1:01.77. St. Marys' Anna Bennett was 6th in 1:02.38. One of my
predicted placers scratched the event.

800 Meter Run
St. Marys' Anna Bennett led the field out of the break but was quickly overtaken by Doddridge's Destiny Berryman
and Williamstown's Alyssa Sauro. Berryman would lead through the first lap, coming through in 67 seconds with Sauro matching
that time right on her shoulder. Bennett was in 3rd at 1:10 with South Harrison's Reyna Headley close behind, also in
1:10. Charleston Catholic's Hannah Fisher was in 5th at 1:11. Trinity Christian's Jenna Barnett was in 6th
at 1:13 with St. Marys' Virginia Haddox matching that in 7th. Petersburg's Ireland Gray was in 8 at 1:14. Berryman
would lead through the turn, but Sauro accelerated with 300 meters to go and shot into the lead and established a gap by the
200 meter mark. She would power away in the final 200 meters to take the win by over 5 seconds in a State Meet Record
time of 2:15.69. That gives her the Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Berryman easily held the 2nd spot
in 2:20.72, which gives her the 8th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Headley took the 3rd spot in 2:26.43.
Bennett held off a strong late surge from Barnett to take 4th, 2:26.92 to 2:27.20. Fisher held the 6th spot in 2:28.13. Gray
was the last one in under 2:30 with a 2:29.54 for 7th. Haddox took the final spot in 2:31.49.

1600 Meter Run
Doddridge's Destiny Berryman led the field out of the break and would lead the first lap in 1:15 with Williamstown's
Alyssa Sauro matching that time in 2nd. Ritchie's Bentlee Williams was in 3rd at 1:16 with Charleston Catholic's
Bella Boggs matching that in 4th. Doddridge's Katie Cottrill was in 5th at 1:17 with that matched by Trinity
Christian's Jenna Barnett in 6th, Williamstown's Cassie Sites in 7th, and St. Marys' Virginia Haddox
in 8th. Lap 2 saw Berryman and Sauro get away from the field. Berryman still led with both coming through at 2:34. Boggs
was up to 3rd at 2:40 with that matched by Barnett in 4th and Cottrill in 5th. Haddox was up to 6th at 2:41 with Williams
in 7th matching that. Sites was in 8th at 2:42. On lap 3, Sauro moved into the lead with about 50 meters to go in the lap
and came through at 3:55. Berryman was solidly in 2nd at 3:57. Boggs remained in 3th at 4:05 with Barnett and Cottrill matching
that in 4th and 5th, respectively. Sites was up to 6th at 4:10 with Haddox in 7th and Williams in 8th matching that. On the
final lap, Sauro pulled away to win easily in 5:05.54, which is the 6th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance.
Berryman easily held the 2nd spot in 5:16.31. Barnett closed well to take the 3rd spot in 5:23.15. Sites had a very strong
final lap to move into 4th in 5:24.77. Cottrill held the 5th spot in 5:25.11. Boggs was 6th in 5:27.09. Williams got by
Haddox for 7th, 5:30.90 to 5:32.23.

3200 Meter Run
Doddridge's Destiny Berryman led the field out of the break, but Williamstown's Alyssa Sauro assumed the lead
by the 200 meter mark and led the field through the 1st lap in 1:15. Berryman was in 2nd at 1:17. I think Charleston Catholic's
Bella Boggs was in 3rd, Ritchie's Chesnee Williams was in 4th, and Doddridge's Katie Cottrill was in 5th
with each at 1:20. St. Marys' Virginia Haddox was in 6th, and Williamstown's Cassie Sites was in 7th with both
at 1:21. Williamstown's Alexis Wynn was in 8th at 1:22. After 2 laps, Sauro was well out front at 2:34. Berryman was
in command of 2nd at 2:42. Cottrill had a slight lead on Boggs for 3rd with both at 2:46. Haddox was up to 5th with Williams
in 6th and Sites in 7th with each at 2:48. Trinity Christian's Tori Hovatter had moved into 8th at 2:54. On lap 3,
Sauro moved further to the front at 3:54. Berryman extended her control of 2nd at 4:09. Cottrill was in 3rd with Boggs in 4th
at 4:16. Sites was up to 5th at 4:19. Haddox was in 6th at 4:20. Williams was in 7th at 4:21. Hovatter remained in 8th at
4:28. At the midway point, Sauro led the way at 5:13. Berryman was in 2nd at 5:37. Cottrill and Boggs remained in the 3rd and
4th spots at 5:45. Haddox was in 5th at 5:52 with Sites matching that in 6th. Williams was in 7th at 5:55, and Hovatter remained
in 8th at 6:02. After 5 laps, it was Sauro in front at 6:35. Berryman was still 2nd at 7:06. Cottrill still held a narrow
lead over Boggs with both at 7:16. Haddox held a slim lead over Sites for 5th with both at 7:26. Williams was in 7th at 7:34.
Hovatter remained in 8th at 7:40. After 6, it was Sauro in the lead at 7:59. Berryman was in 2nd at 8:36. Boggs just moved
past Cottrill right before the line into 3rd with both at 8:50. Haddox and Sites held the next 2 spots at 8:58, having closed
the gap a little on the two in front of them. Williams remained in 7th at 9:12. Hovatter still held the 8th spot at 9:16.
After 7, it was Sauro at 9:22 in the lead. Berryman was at 10:25 in 2nd. Boggs had taken control of 3rd at 10:20. Cottrill
was in 4th at 10:25. Haddox still held a slight lead over Sites for 5th with both at 10:29 but they had cut the gap on 4th
by 4 seconds and were closing. Williams was still in 7th at 10:50. Hovatter was still 8th at 10:54. On the final lap, Sauro
completed her victory, lapping all but 2nd through 6th, taking the line in 10:41.77 giving her the 4th Best All-Time Class
A State Meet Performance. Berryman easily held the 2nd spot in 11:32.52. Boggs held onto the 3rd spot in 11:46.28. Sites
used a big last lap to move into 4th in 11:48.71. Haddox took the 5th spot in 11:52.68. Cottrill was 6th in 11:58.18. Williams
stretched her lead back out a bit for 7th in 12:16.40. Hovatter took the final spot in 12:23.00.

100 Meter High Hurdles
Magnolia's Jenna Blain broke open a close race in the final held to take the win in 15.64. Paden City's Mady Still
outdueled Tyler Consolidated's Lily Dillaman for 2nd 16.07 to 16.13. East Hardy's Madison Kerr was 4th in 16.54.
Teammate Morganne Miller nipped Tygarts Valley's Rommie Shumate for 5th 16.92 to 16.94.

300 Meter Low Hurdles
Magnolia's Jenna Blain led pretty much from the gun and took the win in 46.86. Tyler Consolidated's Lily Dillaman
pulled away for 2nd in 47.55. Clay-Battelle's Magnolia Lemley scored 3rd in 48.98, holding off the late close of
Charleston Catholic's Hannah Fisher, who was 4th in 49.33. South Harrison's Emma Sharpe scored 5th from the
1st Heat in 49.73. Doddridge's Jaycee Lipscomb just missed the 50 second barrier in taking 6th in 50.02, just faster
than Pocahontas' Jessica Armstrong's 50.07 from Heat 1. Ritchie's Elsa Law took the final spot in 50.69 as the
top 11 were all under 50.90.

4x100 Meter Relay
The Doddridge foursome of Jaycee Lipscomb, Kim Adams, Payton Trent, and Payton Currey pulled away in the final 50
meters to take the win in 51.76. Williamstown held the 2nd spot in 52.22. Wheeling Central took the 3rd spot in 52.53.
Valley Wetzel was also under 53 seconds in 4th with a 52.98. Magnolia was 5th in 53.19 with Ritchie 6th in 53.44 and
Tyler Consolidated 7th in 53.49. Last year, only 3 teams ran under 54.

4x200 Meter Relay
The Williamstown group of Audrey Lefebure, Izzy Zide, Addison Richardson, and Shelby Smith took the lead and the win
on the strong anchor leg of Shelby Smith, crossing the line an 1:48.96. Doddridge held the 2nd spot in 1:50.67. South
Harrison ran a strong 3rd in 1:51.28. Buffalo snagged 4th place from Heat 1 with an 1:51.90. Wheeling Central was 5th in
1:52.30. Those 5 were over 1.5 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

4x400 Meter Relay
Doddridge got out to an early lead, taking the 1st leg in 1:03. They were well out front, and I don't know who was next.
Doddridge continued to hold a strong lead through 2 legs, coming through at 2:08. St. Marys was in 2nd at 2:12. Trinity
Christian and Williamstown at 2:14, Tucker and South Harrison at 2:15, Ritchie at 2:16, and East Hardy at 2:17. Leg 3 saw
Doddridge continue to lead 3:11. I think South Harrison moved into 2nd at 3:19 with St. Marys in 3rd. I think Ritchie was in 4th
with Williamstown in 5th, Trinity Christian in 6th, Tucker in 7th, and East Hardy in 8th. On the final leg, the Doddridge
group of Payton Trent, Bailey Holden, Payton Currey, and Destiny Berryman had put 8 seconds on the rest of the field
with a 4:15.01. South Harrison got away for 2nd in 4:23.18. Trinity Christian moved up to 3rd in 4:25.69. Tucker moved up
to 4th in 4:26.28. Williamstown held 5th in 4:27.53. Ritchie was 6th in 4:28.17, slightly faster than Charleston Catholic's
4:28.30 from Heat 1, which scored them 7th. St. Marys got the final spot in 4:28.60.

Charleston Catholic shot out to the early lead, but Doddridge got a very strong 2:26 opening leg from Katie Cottrill.
Charleston Catholic was in 2nd at 2:28 with Williamstown in 3rd at 2:29. I think it was St. Marys in 4th at 2:37. Ritchie was
in 5th at 2:38. I think East Hardy was in 6th at 2:42. It may be Wood County Christian (maybe Cameron) in 7th at 2:43, and
Trinity Christian (maybe Magnolia) in 8th. On the 2nd leg, Williamstown moved out to the front on a 2:26 leg from Cassie
Sites. Doddridge was in 2nd at 5:00. St. Marys was up to 3rd at 5:03 after a 2:26 leg from Anna Bennett. Ritchie
was in 4th at 5:13. Charleston Catholic was in 5th at 5:21. I tink Cameron was up to 6th at 5:27. After 3 legs, Williamstown
was at 7:31 with Doddridge at 7:39. St. Marys was in 3rd at 7:43. Ritchie was in 4th at 7:46. Charleston Catholic was in
5th at 7:57. I think Ravenswood was up to 6th at 8:21 with James Monroe in 7th at 8:25 and Cameron in 8th at 8:26. Williamstown
put it away on the final leg with Alyssa Sauro dropping a 2:19 to give the unit of Ava Lightfritz, Cassie Sites,
Bridget Kirby, and Alyssa Sauro a time of 9:50.43. That gives them the 6th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance.
Doddridge ran strong on the final leg to hold the 2nd spot in 10:06.88 with St. Marys keeping it interesting in 3rd at 10:09.56.
Ritchie ran a very strong 4th in 10:17.89. Charleston Catholic easily held the 5th spot in 10:27.28. Ravenswood got away for
the 6th spot in 10:53.75. Cameron easily took the 7th spot in 11:03.42. James Monroe held onto the 8th spot at 11:11.68.

Shuttle Hurdle Relay
The Paden City squad of Katie Householder, Jocelyn Sawinski, Haven Anderson, and Mady Still got away on the final leg
to take the win by over second in 1:08.85. East Hardy nipped Doddridge for 2nd by less than 0.01 with both recording a 1:09.97.
Petersburg took the 4rd spot in 1:13.15. Williamstown was 5th in 1:13.21. Tyler Consolidated got 6th in 1:13.54 despite falling
twice. Madonna was also under 1:14 in 7th. One of my predicted placers got nailed for a false start.

High Jump
Richwood's Carlee Dillard was not in the lead, but when she cleared 5'2 on her 1st attempt, she snagged the victory.
Wheeling Central's Alexa Loy jumped cleanly through 5'0 for 2nd place. Clay-Battelle's Maggie Lemley was the
only other jumper to clear 4'10 to take 3rd.

Pole Vault
Ritchie's Sydney Kopshina vaulted cleanly through 10'6 to take the win. She then set her sights on a new State Meet
Record at 11'4. She missed on her 1st two attempts, but cleared the mark on her 3rd. She then moved the bar to 11'8 to try
to set a new personal best. Again, she missed on her 1st two attempts but cleared the mark on her 3rd. Three attempts at
12'0 were unsuccesful, but the 11'8 vault gives her a new State Meet Record and is the 4th Best All-Time State Meet
Performance and the Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Williamstown's Grace Boone was the only
other vaulter to clear 10'0 to take 2nd. That ties her for the 9th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance.
Doddridge's Jaycee Lipscomb vaulted cleanly through 9'6 to take 3rd. Doddridge's Anna Trent cleared 9'0 on his
1st attempt for 4th. Williamstown's Izzy Zide cleared 9'0 on his 2nd attempt for 5th. Clay-Battelle's cleared 8'6
on his 1st attempt for 6th. South Harrison's Savannah Holden and Clay-Battelle's Emily Cottrell each cleared
8'0 in taking the final 2 spots.

Long Jump
Valley Wetzel's Laken Dawson soared 16'10 on her 2nd attempt and had 4 jumps over 16' while no one else had more than
one. Trinity Christian's Elecia McCurrie was the only other jumper to eclipse 16' with her lead of 16'0.75 for 2nd.
Gilmer's Ariana Hoard went 15'10 on her 1st attempt to take 3rd. Wheeling Central's Alexa Loy scored a 15'8.50
on her 3rd attempt for 4th. Tyler Consolidated's Addison Blosser went 15'8 for 6th. Teammate Juliana Lattea
went 15'5.25 for 7th with Paw Paw's Miah Smith going 15'2.25 for the final spot. 10 went over 15'.

Doddridge's A'Kaia Williams sent her 2nd toss 35'8, and no one was able to match it giving her the win. Tyler Consolidated's
Juliana Lattea got close on her final attempt with a 35'6 effort. Williamstown's Kyndra Johnson was 3rd with a
34'10 with teammate Reagan Corbett taking 4th with a 34'0. No one else was over 32'0.

Hundred's Areonna Zarco went from 3rd to 1st on her final attempt and snagged the win with her 111'2 toss. Williamstown's
Reagan Corbett took 2nd with a 108'7 toss. Richwood's Chloe Cox scored 3rd with a 106'5. St. Marys' McKenzie
Armstrong threw 102'8 on her final attempt to take 4th. Pocahontas' Allyson Taylor threw 102'5 on her final
attempt for 5th. Doddridge's Brooke Burnside snagged 6th with a 99'3 toss. No one else was over 95'.
